A Letter From Our Founder

I hope this message finds you in good health and you are looking forward to celebrating the upcoming holiday season. As I reflect upon this past year, and all of the challenges we’ve faced, both as a company and a community, I feel a sense of gratitude for everything we’ve been able to accomplish and am extremely optimistic about our future.

I come from the most traditional jewelry background, where I witnessed the limitations of living in the past, behind the closed doors and drawn curtains of exclusive salons, when jewelry was accessible to only a handful of ultra wealthy buyers.

But I always welcomed progress and change. And I wanted to make Jean Dousset about all that matters to me personally: artistry, craftsmanship and service, rooted in heritage, but for the modern consumer.

I first thought of founding Jean Dousset 14 years ago when diamonds, for the first time in their illustrious timeline, became readily available online.

Before the internet, the diamond trade had been shrouded in mystery and secrecy. The revolution of accessibility also brought transparency. Information both digestible and actionable to make better choices, as well as delivering a higher value proposition.

Now, there is a new dawn yet again for diamonds and lovers. A mine of a different depth, size and accessibility. The human mind has studied, contemplated, and re-created the miracle of physics and chemistry, once nature’s sole genius to accomplish.

Lab grown diamonds have matured to meet their natural counterpart in every way. Displaying the same 4Cs – cut, color, clarity and carat weight – as mined diamonds. The most respected gemological laboratories have concluded this and so have I. That’s why I have decided to present you with this exciting new choice: diamonds with different origins, that meet our different belief system and values.

Launching a lab grown diamond collection this year has been completely liberating. Lab grown diamonds have given us the opportunity to bring you the quality of diamonds we strive for, without compromising any of the 4Cs, at a new irresistible price.
